Key words: Resilience, ME (Middle East), Europe, OC (Organizing committee), MEDACT (IPPNW-UK), AMFPGN (IPPNW-France).

Palestinian participants: Rajai Atout and Mustafa Ghanim. Both are PhD students in Paris and working with the Palestinian and European affiliates of IPPNW.

Funds for participation: AMFPGN and MEDACT and the OC of Target Earth conference.

Aims of the participation:
1-To have European OC for the Resilience project.
2-To organize the workshop about extreme groups and kidnapping by Mustafa.
3-To take part in the conference to benefit from other projects.

EUROPEAN MEETING
called by IPPNW French affiliate students

« RESILIENCE PROGRAM PROPOSAL »,
a concrete step for an IPPNW commitment: « a medical road map for Middle East »

STRASBOURG: 27 and 28 September.

The aim of this meeting

OBJECTIVES
-First: learning and training about post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
-Second: what kind of support would be useful coming from European IPPNW STUDENTS?
GOALS
The resilience project proposed by Israeli and Palestinian IPPNW students will be discussed in Strasbourg. There will be a final resolution about a Middle East project with European support which would be opened for discussion to the IPPNW student community.
PROPOSAL
Training and learning weekend, on September 27/28 in Europe’s capital: STRASBOURG.

PARTICIPATION AND ATTENDANCE: around 30 students will attend, limited because facilities.
Guests: Israeli and Palestinian Students and two speakers to explain what “PTSD” is.

RECEPTION COMMITTEE :will be held in AJ RENE CASSIN FUAJ, 8 rue de l’Auberge de Jeunesse, 67200 Strasbourg, from 5 pm on September 26. A cocktail welcoming would be take place from 5 to 6 PM on Friday September 26.
ORGANISATION: The chair woman is ANNE LORRAINE BOUQUIAUX, AMFPGN student representative.

11h: Second lecture by a British expert

13h30:15h30:Two workshop: N°1 discussion of “resilience project” with Israeli and Palestinian students’         
N°2: from social violence to nuclear threat, the IPPNW pyramid concept.
16h: coffee break
16h15-17h 30: Two workshops: N°1, again, project discussion       N°2, European student experiences of prevention and non violent conflict resolution.
17h30-18h30: Workshop reports, conclusion of the first day and start of a resolution commission.
18h-19h30: Social event
